Unfinished work.

And plenty of it!

This is the current state of most of my work at the moment!
I seem to start something new when I've barely touched upon the last thing I started.

But not to worry, much of what you see in this here image before your very own eyeballs. If indeed, you do own a pair. Shall soon be complete and available for all to see.

Flamus & Buttchin!

Two very old characters retrieved from grave and redrawn.

I often use to draw these two gents on a regular basis back in the time of school attendance.
Derived from a couple o' good pals of mine.

Re-Configurations

Re-Configurations was a University based Art show, which took place early March 2011 at Salfords 'Lowry outlet Mall'.

For information regarding what the show was about and who took part, please visit the link below;

reconfigurationslive.wordpress.com

Originally I wasn't a part of the project, hence why I wont be found in the link above. No matter how persistent you are, I shan't be found!
However, my good friend, being the good friend that he is. Obtained me a rather cozy spot to squeeze in and slave away.

With not being an original part of the cast, so to speak.
I hadn't the faintest what to paint, and so, left to my own devices I conjured up the image of  the first sketch contributed to QuirkWorks. (on a much larger scale).

'The Walpug'

Yes, yes. Simmer down!
I'am aware that this may not be appropriate for the given brief.
But it was never meant to be, it's purpose was to serve as a space filler, simply something nice to look at rather than a plastered wall.

In which case, it served it's purpose well.
Don't you think?

Riot Grrrl

For this young lass I didn't have a whole lot to work with, except a teeny image of a pixleated pink and green sprite.

So I went wild with my imagination, met up around dinner one tuesday and had a belting partay! after which we got down to business discussing the character in question, Riot Grrrl.

For those of you who are unfamiliar with her, she's the star of her very own (FREE!) online RPG. Written and created by my good friend Mark Goodall, which you are welcomed to download from his blog, here........

And so,  I can only hope your retinas are most pleased.

Back story of Riot Grrrl -

"They said that they had everything under control in that little complex of theirs. That everything would be okay because the military was there. That the riots would soon be over and that future generations could laugh at the effort the rebels had put into their ploy. And we all believed them, sat happily in our houses as the curfews and blockades dragged on and on and on, because we did not think anything would come of it. After all, we had the most powerful military in the world protecting us!

It did not help that the rebel's propaganda, their so-called "evidence" of genetic brainwashing, sounded like another cheap trick to try and incite anarchy from which only the rebels could benefit. They had tried it all before and, frankly, it sounded like a desperate ploy in their final days of existance. Although I had read their words and heard their broadcasts I just could not take any of it seriously. It sounded like one, big joke...

But the joke was on us.

As soon as one company of the military realised it was their Captain, the "infamous" Captain Alexis, that the "evidence" was based on, it stopped being nonsense. It stopped being comedic, it stopped being propaganda and, instead, it became a new set of orders; orders to fight against a system they believed had warped them and their Captain into killing machines. As the mutiny spread and the military was divided down the middle, the Condemned, criminal bastards that they are, followed the trail of violence out of Central Ferusia until... Until chaos ruled over everything.

I have to get out. I do not care what the television says about Ferusian victories anymore: I can't keep sleeping next to this knife as I wait for someone else to break down my barricaded door... I already have too much blood on my hands!"

NEW (oldish) STUFF!

Hello friends :)
I have decided it was time for me to crawl from my pit of procrastination!
After many weeks shunning the thought of updating this here blog from my warm and cozy mind-space, I am back.

Huzzah!

And I have plenty to tell. So here here, let me tell away what needs to be told.
First the plesentries, Hope y'all had a smashing Crimbo and a cracking New Year, mine was mediocre but I'm cool with that.

So as you may know, from having read the previous post some few months back (I hope).
I took my jolly self, being the jolly chap that i am, to London, with 2 NEW illustrations!
After having arrived, hanging work, partaking in a few chin-wags and mastering the tube (all by myself!). The show was upon us.

Unfortunately, my work didn't really seem to hit it off on the opening night.
However it did receive some attention a few days later, in the form of a local University tutor, who was kind enough to engage me with a group crit consisting of myself and he. To be frank, I was quite hoping for a sale..... would have been nice.

And now, without further adieu.
The illustrations that didn't sell :(

- Homesick -

The idea behind these illustrations was actually one that came to me around 5 or 6 years ago, long time making it to paper eh?
It will soon be a series of 5 images, making up a short series titled 'Life Behind Jars'.

An Ode to Walt

Just a couple of favourites, which can also be viewed under the previous post in My Teeny Tiny Gallery.

I remember feeling quite chuffed with myself after having drawn these three fellas.
Whom appeared from doodles of boredom, as a result of staring aimlessly at the many Disney memorabilia on the shelves above.

When the opportunity arises, I will be hoping to turn the trio into prints available for purchase.

So keep em' peeled if you're interested!
